Research project

This work is focuced on the development of a diagnostic strip, which allows rapid determination of amphetamine in a sample of body fluids such as blood, urine or sweat. The diagnostic strip works on the principle of lateral flow immunoassay. It consists of 4 functional parts that are glued to a plastic support: an absorbtive layer for aplication of the sample, a conjugation zone, a membrane and an absorbtive layer for sample collection. The membrane contains two detection lines (test and control) which are responsible for the identification of amphetamine in the sample. The test line is composed of BSA-bound amphetamine and is shown only when the sample does not contain aphetamine. The control line should always be visible and if not, the assay is invalid.
