High resolution mass spectrometer - LTQ ORBITRAP VELOS

Hybrid mass spectrometer LTQ Orbitrap Velos, which is equipped with a linear ion trap (LTQ) and Orbitrap, allows to perform parallel analyses of substances with high resolution (resolution of 100 000 at m/z = 400 Da) in the range of m/z = 50–2000 Da (Orbitrap) and fragmentation of molecules up to MS10. For the fragmentation of substances, three types of fragmentation can be used – (1) CID (Collision-Induced Dissociation) – fragmentation in the ion trap suitable for structural analysis; (2) PQD (Pulsed Q Collision Induced Dissociation) – fragmentation technique allowing to determine the size of the fragments up to 1/20 of the parent ion and (3) HCD (Higher-Energy Collisional Dissociation) – highly reproducible fragmentation, similar to fragmentation in triple quadrupole, which is suitable for quantification. LTQ Orbitrap Velos is equipped with heated electrospray ionization (HESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI), which allow performing analyses of a wide range of different substances. The separation of substances entering the LTQ ORBITRAP VELOS can be performed by using UHPLC (arrangement consisting of Accela pump 1250 and autosampler Accela AS), or 2D HPLC chromatography (arrangement consisting of Accela pump 1250, Accela pump 600 and autosampler Open Accela AS).

Mass spectrometer TSQ Vantage (Thermo Scientific)

TSQ Vantage ranks among mass spectrometers with triple quadrupole (TSQ = Triple Stage Quadrupole) that allow performing mainly quantitative analyses with high precision and accuracy by using the MS/MS modes (especially the SRM (Selected Reaction Monitoring) and NL (Neutral Loss)). In parallel with the quantification of the analyzed substances (by using SRM or NL modes), TSQ Vantage enables the monitoring of other substances in the analyzed complex matrix (e.g. a biological sample) in a full scan mode. For the ionization of compounds, heated electrospray ionization (HESI) or atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) can be used. The mass spectrometer can be couplet do a 1D (arrangement consisting of a UHPLC – Accela pump 1250 and autosampler Accela AS, or Accela pump 600, autosampler Accela AS and Acela PDA detector), or a 2D (arrangement consisting of 2D HPLC – Accela pump 1250, Accela pump 600 and autosampler Open Accela AS) liquid chromatography system.
